Pirongia Craft Day
This unmissable occasion, pictured above, is held each year in September on the first Saturday of the school holidays. Only genuine New Zealand made crafts and products are sold at this Craft Day. Pirongia Boxing Day Races
Everyone for miles around loads up the chilly bin with Christmas leftovers and turns up to this exciting annual event, to have a flutter on the horses or just to soak up the sunshine and the relaxed but social atmosphere. The Alexander Racing Club is the longest running racing club in New Zealand. The Pirongia Golf Club uses the venue on every other day of the year.

Pirongia Monthly Country Markets
Held on the last Sunday of each month on the grass area beside the Memorial Hall in Franklin Street. Open from 9.00 till 2pm. It is a market for produce, art and craft. Contact Shirley Scott (07) 871 9536

Mt Pirongia Art Awards
This prestigious contest is run by the Pirongia Mountain Restoration Society. It is held annually in November to raise money for the conservation and protection of our beloved mountain. You can find full information and view all the artwork submitted since it began here.
